The building is in the south of the 9th District, directly behind the town hall and the University of Vienna. The adjacent districts, such as the 1st District, are within walking distance. Due to its central location, there are excellent transportation links; for example it takes only 5 minutes to get to the U2 station (Rathaus), from where Karlsplatz and Praterstern/Bahnhof Wien are within easy reach. Drivers, in turn, will appreciate the site’s proximity to Vienna’s main routes - the Gürtel, and parallel to it, the so-called `Zweierlinie’.

In the largest courtyard of the Old Hospital there are numerous restaurants under shady trees, which invite you to linger in the summer months. Moreover, Alserstadt is an ideal starting point for your stroll through Vienna’s historic center. Within a few minutes‘ walk you can reach the famous Ringstrasse with its many sights, such as Parliament and the State Opera.

The largest and most dynamic shopping street is Mariahilfer Strasse, which is only one subway station away. In this hip neighborhood you can browse through hundreds of shops looking for fashion, jewelry, or accessories.

The extensive green oasis is divided into the nine charming courtyards, and contains in addition to the recreation areas, various institutes of the University of Vienna. In winter here one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the city is taking place, the Christmas village, with hot punch stands and crafts.
